A Kitchen That Fits
This is Josh Allison’s own kitchen. In 2012 the opportunity finally presented itself to replace the small, worn, and dated kitchen in our small Dilworth Bungalow. As a family that enjoys cooking, performance was a top priority. Equally important was to build something “cool” and timeless that fit the context and scale of our 100-year-old house. The expanded kitchen is a linear composition that breaks down into a central work zone and a “butler’s pantry” connection to the dining room. Painted inset cabinetry, soapstone countertops and carefully detailed blackened steel accents create a vibe that is of today but still connected to the character of our old house- all while being durable and suited to the demands of preparing nightly dinners and entertaining alike.
