Modernist Additition

Phase 1 of this project- a renovation and addition to a 50’s ranch with a walkout basement addressed the primary living and lower level spaces.  A new addition to the back of the house uses oversized geometric windows to capture views to the woods while sloped ceilings create dynamic volumes in the living, dining and kitchen spaces.  Clean minimal detailing on the interior lets the views, forms and interior materials define the space.  Core-Ten steel and the large expanses of glass add an organic, modern vibe to the exterior while the use of painted artisan siding plays off the original exterior material pallet and sets the stage for phase 2, which is coming soon!
