Story House

Story house is a renovation that transforms an outdated mid-century modern home into a home that is relevant today.  Built in 1951, the house had undergone a number of additions that were not sensitive to the original architecture.  The renovation plans removed the later additions, opened the floor plan in primary areas and raised the roof to create soaring ceilings and operable glass walls intended to capture views and create a strong connection to the natural beauty of the site. Flexibility and timeless design elements that honored the original design of the house were primary considerations intended to preserve the house and make it relevant for years to come.
